Tired of non-stop meetings, want to relax and you have a day out to spend in Bangalore. Well this is what you have in store.
Looking for some good amusement. Check out Innovative Film City in Bidadi about 35 kms from Bangalore. To reach there, you need to take Mysore road and after travelling for about 30 kms, need to take a left just before the Bidadi town. There is a billboard to be spotted. The place is absolutely delightful, one of its kind in India. There is a long high street welcoming you as soon as you enter through main gate. Lot of branded eats outs and stores on both sides. The interiors are extremely well done on lines of an ancient Roman architecture. You have rides to enjoy, film city and artificial wonders to explore, Ripley's museums and fun world to spend time. There is a pretty elegant food court right in the centre of the place. You have a beautiful lake to admire. There’s a artificial beach, hotel for a night stay and an amphitheatre for events. There is a nice karting track done in cooperation with JK tyres. Then there are lot of Ripley’s accessories for sale. Kids have Jurassic Park, 4-D movies and a nice sports arcade to run themselves in. Soon, Innovative is coming up with a 21 screen multiplex and a film academy for film buffs. There are other facilities also planned in the vicinity of the city. Pretty close of IFC, you have a another very popular amusement park, WonderLa. It is truly international amusement facility with all the rides imported. You can spend your entire day in exploring all the rides, food and fun.
If you are looking for a natural place, then head towards Nandi Hills. You have 2 options, either do a night stay as well maintained guest house there or start early from Bangalore. The place is roughly 60 kms north of Bangalore. You need to take NH7, bypass Devanahalli and take an immediate left. You cannot afford to miss the sign board there pointing towards these hills. You have nice 21 kms drive from there. As you move ahead, you find yourselves surrounded with greenery. There are a lot of vineyards in this area. Now you now, where does all Kingfisher gets its wine from. Last 8 kms is a ghat section with lot of hair pin and sharp bends. As you reach the top, you have a splendid view awaiting you. The place is very well maintained by horticulture department of Karnataka. You have an ancient temple, a view point, a guest house, lawns, Mayura hotel and pleasant clouds to spend your next few hours. The place is one of the most popular hangout for youths. Beware not to drink too much as driving back might be an issue.
