Till sometime back, MBA in India was completely a 2 year course. ISB Hyderabad, which started in 2001. has changed the rules of the game.
Soon, IIMs joined the bandwagon followed by XLRI, Great Lakes and SP Jain. Now, there is a mad race in the market. On one side, experienced professionals are finding it really useful to shell out few lakhs and get into elite management executive class. On other side, institutes can compress their 2 year programs and charge aplenty.
This has transformed how management education is looked at in India. Lot of experienced candidates from diverse backgrounds are looking to pursue such rigorous courses.
I am confident that we would soon touch heights and churn out really world class professionals by this much needed transformation.
