1980 saw formation of a right wing in Indian polity. It was a brainchild of political stalwarts rooted in 'Sangh Parivar'. Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Mr Lal Krishna Advani tagged their child as 'party with a difference'. The Indian politics saw a radical movement. Indian National Congress saw its first real opposition in the real terms.
BJP's idealogy was well accepted by middle class Hindu society. 'Ram Mandir Movement' was a perfect launching pad for BJP's establishment in Indian political arena. Mr Advani championed Ram Mandir cause by taking a nationwide RathYatra. 6th Dec, 1992 is considered as a Black day in India history when lakhs of 'Kar Sevaks' destroyed "Babri Masjid". BJP turned out to be victorious. It came to power in 1998 defeating Congress. Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee sworned as PM of first BJP governement at the centre. This party did not last long and in mere 13 days of its existence, it crumbled.
BJP saw its heydays in May 1999. It came victorious with a thumping margin over Congress. The period till 2004 saw many new initiatives by BJP government. Though many of these did not complete. 'Attack on Parliament in 2001', 'Kargil war in 1999', 'Kandhar Hijack drama in 2001' were few of the downsides. BJP crumbled badly after 2004 Lok Sabha elections defeat. 'India Shining' campaign was badly recieved by Indian masses. Mr Vajpayee retired from active politics. BJP just could not rise from this debacle. 2009 was like a bullet in the head. The entire party got into shambles after the popular defeat. The insdiscipline became the order of the day. 'Arun Jaitley'and 'Yashwant Sinha' raised their voices against the high command. Book on "Jinnah's patriotism" partitioned Jaswant Singh within few hours of its release.
Indian politics is set to see another radical change. There is absolute anarchy in the rightist movement in India. India needs another formation to keep polarity in Indian politics.
