‘Entrepreneurship’ bug has caught many youngsters off late. Fresh from the college having lot of brilliant ideas, lots of big dreams, great inspirations from Mr Narayan Murthy and Bill Gates. Youngsters are not just happy with the cushy MNC job. There has been a considerable shift in mindsets of Indians.
Growth in most developed countries has stabilized to a small percentage. Major world economies are seeing large scale job cuts and death of growth funds. There are vast opportunities to be explored in India. Organized retailing is just 2% of the total retailing in India. Few sectors like healthcare, tourism, education are in nascent stages. Government has realized the need to grow SMEs in many parts of the country. There has been a large diversion of funds to develop infrastructure in India. Capital is pouring from all directions of the world. Lot of attention has been given to higher education and industry linked research. Several rural programs have been launched by the government to promote home grown industries. People equipped with vast experiences are returning back to the country. Time is just perfect for a great stride ahead. India needs more entrepreneurs to pitch-in at this hour.
